12/9  The Nutcracker presented by Turning Pointe Dance Academy   (Saturday:  2:00 pm)
Turning Pointe Academy of Dance in Maryville, will present the holiday classic, The Nutcracker, on December 9th and 10th. A sensory-friendly performance will take place on the evening of December 10th for special needs audience members.
The Nutcracker tells the story of young Clara and her magical journey upon receiving a beautiful Nutcracker doll. Clara encounters a fierce battle between toy soldiers and mice, an enchanted forest, and the dazzling Land of Sweets. “We are excited to present the 5th annual production, and are especially looking forward to our first sensory-friendly performance,” says Turning Pointe’s Founder and Director, Dianna Andrews-Gaither.
Besides providing family-friendly entertainment, The Nutcracker allows area dancers, ages 8 and up, the opportunity to perform in a professional-like setting. The dancers auditioned in early summer and have been rehearsing since September. Several guest artists from the St. Louis metro area round out the cast. “I am so proud of the dancers’ and guest artists’ hard work and commitment,” says Andrews-Gaither.
The 2017 Nutcracker production has classical ballet performances familiar to audiences, but also includes some fun surprises with tap, hip hop, and acrobatics. The production’s choreography is a collaboration amongTurning Pointe’s choreographers/instructors and guest choreographers. “The Nutcracker has a little holiday magic for everyone, and we love that it has become an annual event for families,” adds Andrews-Gaither.

12/13  Jingle & Mingle Holiday Party   (Wednesday:  5:30 pm - 10:00 pm)
Put a little jingle in your mingle and join us at Gateway Center for a holiday party open to you and your co-workers! The evening will be full to tasty food, holiday drinks, and live entertainment from Spanky Entertainment Dueling Pianos. 12/16  Santa Returns To Edison's   (Saturday:  8:30 am - 11:00 am)
Edisons Entertainment Complex will host a Breakfast with Santa from 8:30-11am on Saturday, December 16. The cost for the pancake breakfast, a photo with Santa, and unlimited bowling, laser tag, and arcade will be $16 plus tax per guest. Breakfast-only tickets will also be available for just $10 plus tax per guest.

Breakfast will be served until 10am and will feature pancakes with toppings, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and breakfast beverages. In addition to unlimited entertainment, every child will also receive a free photographic keepsake of his or her special moment with Old Saint Nick.

Groups that RSVP by Monday, December 11 will receive a pass for free future game of bowling for each child in their group. RSVPs are strongly recommended but not required. There is no cost to RSVP; all fees will be collected at the door.
